Cabinet reshuffle sees Doris Uzoka-Anite redeployed to Budget and National Planning as presidency seeks Senate confirmation.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Mr Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance, signaling a fresh adjustment within the federal cabinet.
The nomination was formally transmitted to the Senate in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for confirmation.

With the development, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite will move to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State — marking her third portfolio within the current administration.
Until his nomination, Oyedele served as chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, a body credited with initiating major changes to Nigeria’s tax system.
Oyedele, who hails from Ikaram in Akoko area of Ondo State, is an economist, accountant and public policy expert with decades of experience in fiscal policy and taxation.
He obtained a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and later earned a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
His academic and professional development also includes executive education programmes at institutions such as London School of Economics, Yale University, Gordon Institute of Business Science, and Harvard Kennedy School.
Before entering government service, Oyedele spent 22 years at PwC, where he joined in 2001 and rose to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.
Beyond his policy work, he is also a professor at Babcock University and a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
The nomination is part of ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen fiscal management and economic governance.
