Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has restated the Federal Government’s determination to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, following inspection visits by the National Economic Council (NEC) Committee on the Revamp of Police and Other Security Training Institutions, of which he is a member.
In a post on his Facebook page today, Governor Abiodun noted that as members of the NEC Committee, he and other members joined the Chairman, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, to inspect the Police Training School in Nonwa, Rivers State, and the Police College in Enugu.
According to the governor, the visits reflect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s firm commitment to rebuilding and modernizing the nation’s security training institutions. He emphasized that Nigeria cannot demand professionalism, discipline, and integrity from its officers without providing them with training environments that promote excellence, respect, and human dignity.
Governor Abiodun commended the President for demonstrating strong political will through this reform initiative and the approval of 30,000 new police recruits, ensuring that their training takes place in upgraded facilities that meet 21st-century standards.
“This is not a symbolic effort,” the governor stated. “It is a national mission to restore confidence, morale, and professionalism across our security architecture.”
The inspection visits, he added, represent another significant step in the Tinubu administration’s broader agenda to enhance national security through institutional reform, capacity building, and improved welfare for security personnel.
