Governor Unveils Digital Infrastructure to Prepare Enugu Youth for Global Economy

Governor says new digital infrastructure will equip young people with world-class skills and position Enugu for the future economy

The Enugu State Government has taken another significant step in its drive to transform the state into a leading digital economy hub with the formal handover of the Digital Industrial Park and the Digital Bridge Institute, projects expected to accelerate youth empowerment, digital innovation and technology-driven economic growth.

The handover marks a major milestone in the state’s digital transformation agenda, aimed at equipping young people with the skills, infrastructure and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.

Speaking after receiving the facilities, the governor described the projects as strategic investments in the future of Enugu’s youth, stressing that the digital economy offers enormous opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship and job creation.

According to him, the Digital Industrial Park and the Digital Bridge Institute will provide an enabling environment where young innovators, entrepreneurs and technology professionals can develop practical skills, create solutions and compete successfully on the global stage.

He noted that beyond physical infrastructure, the projects represent a long-term commitment to preparing the next generation for emerging opportunities in digital technology, artificial intelligence, software development, innovation and other knowledge-based industries.

The governor said the administration remains focused on building a future-ready economy by investing in education, digital infrastructure and human capital development.

He emphasised that the future belongs to societies that deliberately prepare their young people with relevant skills, adding that Enugu is positioning itself to become one of Nigeria’s leading centres for digital innovation and technological advancement.

The Digital Industrial Park is expected to serve as a hub for technology startups, innovation, research, business incubation and digital enterprises, while the Digital Bridge Institute will strengthen digital literacy, professional ICT training and capacity development for young people and professionals across the state.

The governor expressed confidence that the facilities would stimulate economic growth, attract technology investments, create employment opportunities and strengthen Enugu’s competitiveness in Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.

Reaffirming his administration’s vision, he declared that the state’s investments are designed not only to meet today’s needs but to prepare residents for the opportunities of tomorrow.

“Tomorrow is here,” he stated, describing the projects as a clear demonstration of the government’s determination to build a prosperous, technology-driven future for Enugu State.
