2027: Ogun East Loyalists Back Tinubu, Gbenga Daniel for Continuity

BATOGD Movement mobilises supporters in Odogbolu as senator urges unity on Ijebu-Remo State creation and APC e-registration.

Loyalists of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the senator ahead of the 2027 general elections, endorsing both leaders for continuity in office.

The endorsement was made under the platform of the BATOGD Political Movement during a massive gathering held on Sunday at the Luwera Hotel Arena, Oke-Owa, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Thousands of supporters filled the venue to capacity, openly declaring their support for President Tinubu and Senator Daniel, in what was seen as early mobilisation for the 2027 polls.

The event formed part of the ongoing mobilisation tour of the BATOGD movement across Ogun East Senatorial District and attracted several dignitaries. Among those in attendance were traditional rulers, including the Onirete of Irete Ijebu, Alaye Aba of Aiyepe Ijebu, Alakan of Ilakan Aiyepe, Ayanyelu of Ijesha Ijebu, and the Sapenuwa of Odojobore, alongside chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Odogbolu Local Government and other parts of Ogun East.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Daniel disclosed that the visit marked the seventh engagement tour of the BATOGD movement in recent months. He urged party members and supporters to actively participate in the ongoing APC online registration exercise.

“The e-registration process for the All Progressives Congress has commenced. I urge all citizens—young and old, men and women—to take full advantage of this opportunity so that we can collectively support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our senatorial re-election bid,” he said.

Speaking on the agitation for the creation of Ijebu-Remo State, the former Ogun State governor appealed to Ijebu and Remo indigenes to speak with one voice, stressing that the process of state creation is demanding and requires unity of purpose.

“In the present circumstances confronting Ijebuland, the last real hope for accelerated and sustainable development lies in the creation of a new state from the old Ijebu Province,” Daniel stated.

He added that while significant work had been done behind the scenes, unity remains the most critical requirement for success. According to him, if the National Assembly does not perceive clear unity among the people, the actualisation of the state may be difficult.

The event ended on a joyful note as several members of the All Progressives Congress went home with various empowerment tools provided by the senator. Items distributed included fertilizers, refrigerators, motorcycles, power generating sets, wheelchairs, grinding machines, and smart television sets, adding excitement and colour to the gathering.
