YPM Celebrates Adeola at 57, Hails His Contributions to Ogun, Reaffirms Support for His Political Ambition

Akintunde Describes Yayi as “Standing Mirror” of Good Leadership as Movement Prays for Greater Accomplishments

The leadership of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) in Ogun State has felicitated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on his 57th birthday, describing him as a political leader whose contributions to the development of the state have continued to attract recognition.

The congratulatory message was contained in a joint statement issued to journalists on Monday by the State Media Director of YPM, Oluseun Joshua, on behalf of the leadership and members of the movement.

YPM, led by its Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, described Adeola as a “standing mirror” of good leadership and a major asset to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while celebrating what it described as his commitment to public service and grassroots development.

The movement said the senator’s political journey and growing influence in Ogun State reflected years of engagement with the people and dedication to causes that, according to the group, have strengthened his standing among his supporters.

For Akintunde, the birthday provides an opportunity not only to celebrate Adeola’s personal milestone but also to acknowledge what he described as the senator’s contributions to various sectors and his growing political profile in Ogun State.

“As a political support group, we celebrate our leader and principal on his 57th birthday today. I join all well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating a political icon and a distinguished blessing to the good people of Ogun State,” Akintunde said.

He added that Adeola’s record of service deserved recognition, urging the people of Ogun State to acknowledge what he described as his contributions to the state’s development.

“This is the time to let the people of Ogun State know that Senator Olamilekan Adeola is an icon whose contributions across various sectors are undeniable,” he said.

Akintunde also offered prayers for the senator, asking God to continue to guide and strengthen him as he advances in age and public service.

“It is my prayer that as our leader advances in his glorious years, God will continue to guide and strengthen him and all those around him. As he marks this year, may he continue to experience growth, greater accomplishments and fulfilment in every aspect of his life and endeavours,” he added.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of YPM, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, highlighted Adeola’s humanitarian activities and what he described as his commitment to the welfare of the people.

Kaka said these qualities had helped distinguish the senator among his political contemporaries, while joining the movement’s leadership and members in wishing him good health, wisdom and continued success.

“I join our Convener and other members of the progressive family to rejoice with and celebrate our distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola on his birthday today,” Kaka said.

Describing the birthday as another significant milestone in Adeola’s life, Kaka prayed for many more years of good health and greater accomplishments.

“We pray that God will grant him many more years in good health, wisdom and greater accomplishments. We look forward to gathering again to celebrate with him next year as Governor of Ogun State,” he said.

Kaka further used the occasion to reaffirm the identity and political objectives of YPM, describing the group as a platform built around shared political ideals, loyalty, grassroots mobilisation and support for its principal.

He said the movement would continue to work towards strengthening its structures and sustaining engagement with the people of Ogun State.

“As we jointly celebrate Senator Adeola at 57, we reaffirm our commitment to building a vibrant progressive family anchored on service, solidarity and the pursuit of a better future for the people of Ogun State,” Kaka said.

The birthday message comes as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with YPM using the occasion to reaffirm its loyalty to Adeola and its support for his political aspirations in Ogun State.
