Ogun Civil Servants Urged to Embrace Reforms, Drive Investment Agenda

Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, charges workforce to sustain excellence and support Dapo Abiodun’s I.S.E.Y.A. vision as 2026 work resumes

Civil and public servants in Ogun State have again been urged to embrace ongoing reforms of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration aimed at repositioning the state as the investment destination of choice in Nigeria.

The Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, gave the charge while speaking with journalists in his office at Oke-Mosan during the first working week of the year, as part of an assessment of workers’ readiness for duties in the New Year.

According to him, civil servants, as the engine room of government, must remain committed to the effective implementation of the administration’s cardinal programmes as encapsulated in the I.S.E.Y.A. mantra.

Mr. Onasanya described Governor Abiodun’s New Year broadcast as timely and comprehensive, noting that it captured the true essence of governance. He commended the Governor for appreciating the workforce and the general populace for their cooperation, while reaffirming government’s commitment to inclusive development, provision of social amenities and improved welfare services.

He stated that Ogun State has recorded remarkable growth across various indices, including increased Internally Generated Revenue and Gross Development Product, achievements he attributed largely to the dedication of the workforce. He added that the enviable status of the Ogun State Civil Service among its peers nationwide was worthy of commendation.

The Head of Service urged workers to sustain excellence, in line with the legacy of the state’s founding fathers who laid a solid foundation for the Service.

“I want to thank His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for revving up the engine of government through continuous capacity-building initiatives. By the grace of God, efforts at enhancing workers’ capacity will be intensified to ensure smoother government operations,” he said.

He stressed that Ogun State must not lag behind, describing it as a leading state repositioned for excellence, which must remain its watchword.

Meanwhile, some civil servants interviewed, including Mr. Lateef Shittu of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mrs. Stella Olasode of the Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, and Mrs. Kabirat Obadimu of the Bureau of Service Matters, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the end-of-year bonus and other welfare packages received in 2025. They pledged their continued cooperation, loyalty to the government and renewed dedication to duty in the New Year.
