The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ijebu-Ode Local Government and Ijebu-Ode South Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has commenced its 2026 Week of Prayer, popularly known as Adura Odun.
The annual prayer programme, which began yesterday, has as its theme “My Year of Restoration of the Lost Glory.” Traditionally, the Week of Prayer starts in one of the churches within the local government areas and is marked by prayer sessions as well as courtesy visits to notable personalities across the town.
On the first day of the programme, CAN leaders and members paid their initial visits to the Awujale of Ijebuland at the Awujale’s Palace, where prayers were offered for peace, unity and progress of Ijebu-Ode and Ogun State at large. The delegation later proceeded to the residence of the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode as part of the day’s activities.
The CAN Week of Prayer is expected to continue with further spiritual activities and visitations throughout the week, focusing on restoration, renewal and collective development of the community.
