OGSTEP Drives Ogun’s Economic Renewal as HoS Hails Impact on ISEYA Pillars

The Ogun State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, has described the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) as a major catalyst for economic renewal in the State, commending the project for re-energising the ISEYA development pillars and delivering impact across key sectors.

Mr. Onasanya made this known while receiving the OGSTEP Management Team, led by the Project Coordinator, Mrs. Mosunmola Owo-Odusi, during a farewell and appreciation visit to his office.

According to the HoS, the project has evolved into a bold and visionary stimulus that now serves as the engine room of Ogun State’s renaissance.

“OGSTEP has not only revived but re-ignited the ISEYA pillars across board, touching virtually every sector of our economy and governance structure,” Onasanya said.

He identified the pillars to include education and skills development, agriculture and food security, health, infrastructure, land management and ease of doing business, noting that the interventions under OGSTEP have significantly transformed the State’s economic landscape.

The HoS also praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to agricultural development and land reforms, particularly his assent to the bill establishing the Ogun State Agricultural Land Management Agency.

He explained that the Agency is saddled with deploying the Framework for Responsible and Inclusive Land-Intensive Agricultural Investments (FRILIA) to ensure transparent acquisition, allocation and management of agricultural land in the State.

While appreciating the OGSTEP team and collaborating Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for their dedication, Mr. Onasanya urged the project managers to prioritise effective monitoring, evaluation and sustainability.

“This initiative must not become a footnote in history. It must not be a giant that fades into slumber but one that is guided by wisdom, protected with resolve and sustained maximally,” he said.

Earlier, Mrs. Owo-Odusi explained that the visit was to express gratitude to the State Government, through the Office of the Head of Service, for its consistent support since the project commenced in Ogun State in 2020.

She noted that OGSTEP has recorded notable milestones since inception, attributing its success to strong institutional backing and the cooperation of all stakeholders.

“The support from the State Government and MDAs has ensured that OGSTEP delivers lasting value to the people of Ogun State,” she said.
