MultiChoice Set to Drop 11 Channels from DStv as Warner Bros Distribution Talks Stall

Pay-TV giant notifies subscribers of channel shutdown effective December 31

MultiChoice Group has announced that 11 television channels may be removed from DStv following a stalled distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery.

In a notice issued to subscribers, the company stated that the affected channels include: Discovery Channel, TLC Africa, Discovery Family, Real Time, TNT Africa, and Food Network.

It added that Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, and CNN International will also go off-air from 23:59 CAT on December 31.

According to the notice, this development follows challenges in reaching a new distribution deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

“The following channels will no longer be available to customers on DStv from December 31,” MultiChoice said in its update to users.
