Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday reaffirmed the importance of faith-based institutions in promoting moral values, social development, and peaceful coexistence across society.

The Governor made this known through the Ogun State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, who represented him at the 6th Biennial Conference of the African Church of Nigeria tagged “Egba 2026.”

The conference was held at the African Church St. James’ Cathedral on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
The event brought together church leaders, clerics, stakeholders, and members of the Christian community from different parts of the country to deliberate on spiritual growth, national development, and the role of the church in strengthening societal values.

Representing Governor Abiodun, Onasanya commended the African Church for its longstanding contributions to education, moral development, and community service, noting that religious institutions remain critical partners in nation-building and social transformation.

He reiterated the commitment of the Ogun State Government to sustaining cordial relationships with faith-based organisations in advancing peace, unity, and development across the state.

The conference also featured prayers for the state and the nation, alongside discussions centred on leadership, faith, unity, and the future of the church within contemporary society.
