APC CONVENTION: YAYI PROGRESSIVES MOVEMENT HAILS TINUBU, NEW NWC LEADERSHIP

…Commends Gov. Abiodun, Speaker Elemide over defections in Ogun Assembly

The Convener of the Ogun State-based political group, Yayi Progressives Movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) following the successful conduct of the party’s national convention in Abuja.

Akintunde also extended his goodwill to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, national delegates from the state, and members of opposition parties in the Ogun State House of Assembly who recently defected to the ruling APC.

In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday by the State Media Director of the movement, Oluseun Joshua, the convener described the convention as a significant milestone in strengthening the ruling party’s internal cohesion and national outlook.

According to him, the APC continues to witness remarkable growth under the leadership of President Tinubu, noting that the emergence of new national executives signals renewed momentum for the party.

“This is another opportunity for our great party to move forward and strengthen its position against opposition parties.

The APC continues to grow stronger daily, witnessing massive support and increasing membership across the country”.

“I commend our dear President and leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a job well done. Baba is indeed a great leader, and his leadership style remains a model we proudly emulate as a progressive movement in Ogun State today,” Akintunde said.

The Yayi Movement convener further lauded Governor Abiodun for his leadership in Ogun State, particularly in fostering unity within the party.

“I cannot end this heartfelt felicitation without commending our leader and father in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, who has continued to pilot the affairs of our party with wisdom. What we are witnessing in Ogun State today is exemplary, especially the movement of opposition members in the State Assembly into the APC,” he added.

Akintunde also commended the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, alongside other national delegates who represented the state at the convention, expressing optimism that the party would continue to consolidate its achievements.

In a separate remark, the State Coordinator of the Yayi Progressives Movement, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the convention as a moment of renewed unity and celebration for party members.

“This is another great moment of celebration for our party, particularly in Ogun State, where opposition members joined us at the Abuja convention. What we are witnessing in the State Assembly today reflects growing unity and is a clear indication that the party is making steady progress in the state,” Kaka said.

The Yayi Progressives Movement reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilization, inclusiveness, and the promotion of progressive ideals, noting that it would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening party unity and good governance across Ogun State.
