Governor Dapo Abiodun has received the governorship nomination form of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, describing the development as a reflection of growing unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

Abiodun disclosed that the presentation took place in the presence of party leaders and other prominent stakeholders, marking a significant step in preparations ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
According to the governor, the formal submission of the nomination form by Adeola, who has emerged as the APC’s consensus governorship candidate, signals a shared commitment among party members to strengthen cohesion and align behind a common political vision.

The governor noted that the event goes beyond routine political procedure, describing it as evidence of collective resolve within the party.
“This presentation reflects the growing unity in our party and our determination to move forward together with a shared vision for Ogun State,” he stated.
He added that the presence of key dignitaries at the event further demonstrates the level of support and alignment within the APC as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
Senator Adeola’s emergence as a consensus candidate has been widely interpreted within party circles as a strategic move aimed at consolidating support and avoiding internal divisions ahead of the elections.
Observers say the endorsement and subsequent presentation of nomination forms could help stabilise the party’s internal dynamics while strengthening its electoral position in the state.

Abiodun emphasised that beyond political processes, the focus remains on sustaining development and advancing governance in Ogun State.
He reiterated that unity within the party is essential for delivering on policy goals and maintaining continuity in leadership.
The development signals early momentum within the APC as stakeholders continue consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
