The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, on Tuesday received the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Nigeria, His Excellency Mehmet Poroy, during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

The visit underscored the growing diplomatic and institutional relationship between Nigeria and Türkiye, particularly in areas of anti-corruption, financial crime prevention and international law enforcement cooperation.

Ambassador Poroy was received by Olukoyede and senior officials of the Commission during the visit, which provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration in tackling economic and financial crimes.
Although details of the discussions were not immediately disclosed, the meeting is expected to reinforce existing partnerships between the EFCC and relevant Turkish institutions in intelligence sharing, capacity building, asset recovery and cross-border investigations.

The EFCC has continued to expand its international engagements under Olukoyede’s leadership, strengthening relationships with foreign missions, international anti-corruption agencies and development partners to enhance Nigeria’s fight against corruption, money laundering, cybercrime and other financial offences.

The Commission has consistently maintained that international cooperation remains critical to combating transnational organised crime, recovering illicit assets and ensuring that perpetrators of economic and financial crimes are brought to justice regardless of jurisdiction.
The courtesy visit concluded with the exchange of goodwill and commemorative photographs, reflecting the cordial relationship between the EFCC and the Republic of Türkiye.
