Adenugba Hosts Ramadan Iftar in Ijebu North, Leads Prayers for Abiodun, Supports Muslim Families

Ogun governor’s aide distributes rice and cash as clerics, community leaders gather for prayers during Ramadan In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on OPIC, Housing and Special Projects, Farooq Adenugba, has hosted an Iftar gathering and organised special prayers for the peace and progress of Ogun State as well as the continued success of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The event, held on Saturday at the Ebumawe Royal Palace in Ago-Iwoye, brought together Islamic clerics, community leaders and residents from across Ijebu North Local Government Area for an evening of prayer, reflection and communal support during the fasting period.

Prince Adenugba, a royal prince of the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, used the occasion to distribute bags of rice and cash gifts to Muslim families to support them during the Ramadan fast.

Participants at the gathering were also offered prayers for the leadership of the state, members of the Ogun State executive council and the wellbeing of communities across the area.

Islamic clerics at the event offered supplications for the continued peace, development and prosperity of Ogun State, while also praying for the success of the administration of Governor Abiodun and for the wellbeing of the people.

The gathering attracted several community leaders and political stakeholders within the Ijebu North axis, reflecting the significance of the Ramadan season as a time for spiritual reflection and unity among Muslim faithful.

Speaking after the programme, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ijebu North Local Government, Mosunmola Oladipupo, praised Adenugba for what he described as a longstanding commitment to community service and generosity.

According to Oladipupo, the gesture reflects Adenugba’s consistent support for the people and his dedication to humanitarian outreach within the community.

Participants at the gathering said the initiative created an atmosphere of unity and spiritual renewal, with Muslim faithful using the moment to pray for wisdom for state leaders and continued stability within Ogun State.

Observers also noted that such community-based initiatives during Ramadan reinforce values of compassion, charity and social responsibility that are closely associated with the fasting period.

For many attendees, the distribution of food items and financial support offered relief to families observing the fast, while the prayers and communal meal strengthened bonds among residents in the Ijebu North community.
