Awujale aspirant urges Ijebu people at home and in the diaspora to remain hopeful and committed to peaceful coexistence
Prince Olawale Adeyemi-Oriola (Esq.), a United States–based Nigerian and aspirant to the Awujale stool, has extended warm Christmas greetings to the people of Ijebuland, both at home and in the diaspora, urging them to remain optimistic and hopeful for a better future as Christians celebrate the 2025 Christmas season.
Prince Oriola described Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, as a symbol of God’s universal love for mankind. He emphasized the need for the Ijebu people to embrace the values of love, unity, and selflessness, noting that these virtues are essential for sustainable growth and development in Ijebuland and Nigeria at large.
According to him, beyond the festive season, Ijebu indigenes at home and abroad must continue to demonstrate genuine love for one another, foster peaceful coexistence, and remain committed to unity and progress. He encouraged citizens to be good neighbours, act as their brothers’ keepers, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
“Beyond this Christmas season, we must continually show love to one another. We must be kind to our neighbours, uphold unity, and work collectively for the progress of our dear nation,” he said.
Prince Oriola wished all sons and daughters, fathers and mothers of Ijebuland a peaceful and memorable Christmas celebration, praying for divine peace, renewed hope, and the restoration of the land.
He added that the message of Christmas should fill every home with joy, strengthen bonds of unity across ethnic and religious divides, and usher the nation into a season of peace and prosperity, while praying for wisdom in leadership, compassion among the people, and the grace to overcome present challenges.
