It was a breathtaking spectacle of culture, colour, and elegance as Prince Adewale Oriola Adeyemi, an Ijebu prince and barrister, tied the traditional knot with his heartthrob, Princess Temilade Remi Adeoye, in a regal ceremony that magnificently showcased the enduring heritage of Ijebuland.

Held at the luxurious Five Palm Event Centre in Oniru, Lekki, Lagos, the occasion brought together an impressive array of royalty, business moguls, high-ranking chiefs, and dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond. The celebration marked the uniting of two noble dynasties — the Adeyemi and Adeoye royal families — whose names echo through the proud history of Ijebuland.

Renowned for their deep-rooted traditions, pride, and refined cultural expressions, the Ijebu people were splendidly represented in this grand ceremony. The event, which spanned over seven hours, radiated with the beauty and grace of Ijebu royalty — complete with traditional music, dazzling attire, and heartfelt blessings from elders and well-wishers.

Prince Adewale Oriola Adeyemi is the grandson of the late Prince Fasasi Adebisi Adeyemi (Obanlefa), who served as the Olori-Ebi of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu-Ode from 1988 to 2013.

His bride, Princess Temilade Remi Adeoye, is the daughter of the late Oba Aderemi Adeoye, the first Lamuren of Oke-Lamuren in Ijebu — a revered monarch fondly remembered for his devotion to unity, progress, and cultural preservation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prince Adeleke Adeyemi of the Olufadi royal family described the marriage as “a divine continuation of royal heritage and blessing.”

“The couple represents the true spirit of Ijebu royalty,” he said. “Both were born into noble families that uphold tradition, honour, and service. Their union is not just a celebration of love, but a continuation of a legacy that will live on through generations.”

In his remarks, the groom, Prince Adewale Oriola, expressed deep joy and gratitude, describing his bride as “a virtuous royal woman who completes my world.”

“As a proud son of Ijebuland, I sought God’s guidance in finding a partner who shares my values and heritage,” he said. “Princess Temilade embodies grace, humility, and strength — the hallmarks of true royal womanhood. Together, we pray that our home continues to reflect love, peace, and the blessings of our lineage.”

Their union beautifully blended tradition with modern elegance, symbolising not only love but also the timeless prestige of Ijebu royalty. As they embark on this noble journey together, Prince Adewale Oriola and Princess Temilade stand as shining examples of love rooted in heritage and honour.
