Yayi Progressives Movement Renews Support For Adeola With Fresh Campaign Donations

Adeola commends Akintunde, members for sustained mobilisation ahead of 2027 election

The Yayi Progressives Movement has renewed its support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola with another presentation of campaign materials and food items as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The presentation, held on Thursday, brought together members of the movement, APC stakeholders and supporters, including the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Kudirat Abiodun Balogun, Commissioner for Budget, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade and Hon. Babatunde Olaotan.

Speaking at the gathering, Adeola acknowledged the contributions of the Yayi Progressives Movement to his political activities and commended its members for their continued commitment.

The senator particularly recognised the efforts of the movement’s Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, as well as other members, recalling some of the group’s activities since its formation, including the earlier presentation of 27 campaign buses and a solidarity trek.

The movement had in May announced a ₦1 billion campaign support fund and unveiled 27 branded buses for grassroots mobilisation and campaign logistics ahead of the 2027 elections. The group subsequently transitioned from its earlier Omoluabi identity to the Yayi Progressives Movement.

Adeola appreciated the members for what he described as their steadfastness and urged them to sustain their mobilisation activities ahead of the general elections.

He also told members that the success of the All Progressives Congress would ultimately benefit the people of Ogun State.

In a statement issued on Friday through the movement’s Director of Media and Communications, Comrade Oluseun Joshua, Akintunde said his support for Adeola had long preceded the emergence of the Yayi Progressives Movement.

Akintunde described Adeola as a father figure to members of the group and said there was no limit to the support they could provide towards his political aspiration.

He said Adeola had earlier directed members to mobilise support for APC candidates across Ogun State, adding that the directive had remained part of the movement’s activities from the period of DACA through its subsequent stages and into the current YPM structure.

“The election of our principal and distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan ‘Yayi’ is a paramount assignment to all of us in the Yayi Progressives Movement,” Akintunde said, while appreciating members for their continued efforts.

The YPM Convener has previously said the movement is building its structure across all 20 local government areas of Ogun State. The organisation also says its activities include grassroots mobilisation, voter education, membership expansion and youth participation.

Also speaking, the Deputy Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Yakubu Lookman, commended Adeola for his leadership and support for the organisation at different levels.

Lookman also praised the leadership of the movement for creating opportunities for members to work collectively and mobilise support around its political objectives.

The latest presentation forms part of the Yayi Progressives Movement’s ongoing political activities as the 2027 election approaches.
