Oyo Celebrates New Head of Service, Commissioners as Leaders Hail Appointments

Dr. Adenike Fasina's emergence as Head of Service described as a reward for excellence, dedication and years of distinguished public service.

Congratulations and goodwill messages have continued to trail the appointment and swearing-in of Dr. (Mrs.) Adenike Ayobami Fasina as the new Head of Service of Oyo State, with stakeholders describing her emergence as a fitting recognition of decades of dedicated service, professionalism and commitment to public administration.

Dr. Fasina was officially sworn in as the state’s highest-ranking civil servant, assuming responsibility for overseeing the Oyo State Civil Service and driving policies aimed at improving efficiency, service delivery and institutional excellence across government ministries, departments and agencies.

Her appointment has been widely welcomed within and outside the civil service, with many observers noting that it reflects the state’s commitment to rewarding competence, integrity and experience in public service.

Those who congratulated the new Head of Service described her appointment as a testament to her exemplary career, professional achievements and unwavering dedication to the growth and development of Oyo State.

They noted that throughout her years in public service, Dr. Fasina distinguished herself through diligence, discipline and effective leadership, qualities they believe will serve her well in her new role.

Particular attention was also drawn to her roots in Eruwa and the wider Ibarapa zone, with many describing her elevation as a source of pride for the people of the region and an inspiration to young professionals aspiring to leadership positions in government service.

According to well-wishers, her appointment demonstrates that hard work, competence and commitment remain pathways to leadership and recognition in public service.

Congratulations were also extended to the newly sworn-in members of the Oyo State Executive Council, Dr. Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, following their inauguration as commissioners by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The appointments are expected to further strengthen the administration’s capacity to implement policies and programmes aimed at accelerating development across various sectors of the state’s economy.

Observers noted that both commissioners bring valuable experience and expertise to their respective assignments and are expected to contribute meaningfully to the realization of the Makinde administration’s development agenda.

Political leaders, community stakeholders and public servants expressed confidence that the new Head of Service and commissioners would justify the confidence reposed in them through effective leadership, innovation and commitment to public welfare.

They urged the newly appointed officials to remain focused on delivering results that would improve governance, strengthen institutions and enhance the quality of life of residents across Oyo State.

Many also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the civil service and political leadership in sustaining ongoing reforms and ensuring continuity in government programmes.

The appointments come at a time when the Oyo State Government continues to pursue major investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Supporters of the government expressed optimism that the new appointments would further enhance policy implementation and contribute to the state’s ongoing transformation efforts.

As Dr. Fasina begins her tenure as Head of Service and the newly sworn-in commissioners settle into their responsibilities, expectations remain high that their leadership will strengthen governance, deepen institutional effectiveness and advance the development aspirations of Oyo State.

Stakeholders have therefore wished the new appointees wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance as they undertake the responsibility of serving the people of Oyo State.
