As early political alignments for the 2027 general elections begin to take shape in Ogun State, the Omoluabi Movement has launched an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at strengthening support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The movement announced that its mobilisation strategy is focused on rallying support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the senatorial ambition of Dapo Abiodun, and the governorship aspiration of Solomon Adeola ahead of the 2027 polls.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Wednesday by the group’s State Director of Media and Publicity, Oluseun Joshua, the organisation revealed that it has begun a statewide engagement drive across Ogun State’s three senatorial districts.
The statement, signed by the Convener of the movement, Armstrong Tope Akintunde, said the mobilisation exercise is designed to deepen political participation at the community level and strengthen the movement’s grassroots structure.
According to Akintunde, the campaign recently commenced with the deployment of 27 newly unveiled buses to communities across the state to facilitate outreach and coordination.
He explained that the initiative forms part of a broader organisational strategy to reinforce the movement’s network, which it says currently includes more than 30,000 members.

“Our mobilisation exercise began a few days ago across Ogun State with the deployment of 27 buses to various communities. The objective is to strengthen grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and other APC candidates in the state,” he stated.
Beyond political mobilisation, the group also disclosed plans to roll out an empowerment programme targeting its registered membership base.
The programme, expected to benefit more than 30,000 members, is intended to encourage active participation within the organisation while supporting community-level development initiatives.
The movement also addressed speculation regarding its identity, clarifying that it has no affiliation with any similarly named political group associated with former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Akintunde emphasised that the use of the name “Omoluabi” reflects a widely recognised Yoruba ethical philosophy rather than allegiance to any particular political personality.
“Our Omoluabi Movement has no connection with the group linked to the former Osun governor. The concept of Omoluabi is a cultural value within Yoruba society that represents integrity, responsibility and good character,” he said.
The convener added that the movement’s guiding philosophy centres on promoting integrity, accountability, service, and respect for democratic values in political participation.
He further revealed that the name of the organisation gained symbolic significance following remarks by the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who offered royal blessings during the unveiling ceremony of the movement’s 27 mobilisation buses.
According to the group, the monarch’s remarks reinforced the importance of the Omoluabi ethos as a foundation for responsible leadership and civic engagement.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, the movement stated that its political objectives include building a strong grassroots structure capable of supporting the re-election bid of President Tinubu, the senatorial aspiration of Governor Abiodun, and the emergence of Senator Adeola as the next governor of Ogun State.
It also pledged to mobilise support for other APC candidates contesting seats in the National Assembly and the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The group maintained that its long-term mission remains the promotion of participatory democracy, improved political awareness, and sustained engagement between citizens and elected leaders.
