The electoral process in two constituencies of Rivers State moved to its final stage on Wednesday as the Independent National Electoral Commission presented Certificates of Return to newly elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The presentation ceremony, held at the commission’s state headquarters in Port Harcourt, confirmed Napoleon Ukalikpe as the winner of the Ahoada-East II State Constituency election and Bulabari Henrietta Loolo as the winner of the Khana II State Constituency by-election.

With the issuance of the certificates, both lawmakers-elect are now cleared to be sworn in as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, where they will represent their constituencies in legislative activities.

INEC officials at the event congratulated the winners and urged them to see their victory as a call to service.

They emphasized the need for the incoming legislators to uphold democratic values, promote good governance, and prioritise the welfare and development of their constituents.

The commission also reiterated its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process through credible elections and transparent electoral procedures.

The by-elections were conducted to fill vacant seats in the Rivers State legislature, with observers noting that the successful conclusion of the process reinforces confidence in the electoral system.
