NUJ Ogun East celebrates Diya at 40, applauds support for journalism

Chapel hails Odogbolu chairman’s recognition of the media and grassroots journalism

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun East Independent Chapel, has congratulated the Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya, on his 40th birthday, commending his recognition and support for journalism and the activities of the Union.

In a birthday message issued to mark the milestone, the Chapel described Diya’s 40th birthday as an opportunity to celebrate his contributions to public service and acknowledge his positive disposition towards the media.

The Chapel said Diya had distinguished himself among local government chairmen in Ogun East through the recognition and support he had extended to the NUJ Ogun East Independent Chapel and its activities.

According to the Union, the chairman’s relationship with the media has gone beyond mere acknowledgement, as his willingness to identify with and encourage legitimate journalistic activities has been particularly appreciated by journalists across the district.

The Chapel noted that such recognition has encouraged its efforts to strengthen journalism and grassroots reporting in Ogun East, especially its commitment to bringing government activities and community issues closer to the people.

It said the birthday provided an appropriate opportunity to publicly appreciate the chairman for his support and his recognition of the role of journalists in promoting information, accountability and community development.

While congratulating Diya on attaining 40, the NUJ Ogun East Independent Chapel wished him greater wisdom, strength, good health and fulfilment as he begins another decade of his life.

The message, signed by the Chapel Chairman, Comrade Oluseun Oduneye, and Secretary, Olufunmilayo Adewoju Suleodu, also prayed for continued guidance and success for the chairman in his service to the people of Odogbolu.

The Chapel wished Diya many more years of purposeful living, impactful service and accomplishments.
