YPM Youths Take Over Abeokuta Streets in Solidarity March for Tinubu, Abiodun and Yayi

The Youth and Students Wings of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) on Wednesday took to the streets of Abeokuta in a massive solidarity trek to reaffirm their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The colourful procession, which attracted hundreds of youths, students, party loyalists and All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, also served as a public endorsement of Governor Abiodun’s anticipated senatorial ambition and Senator Adeola’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State.

The participants converged at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, before embarking on a peaceful walk through major roads in the state capital. Waving APC flags and displaying banners and placards bearing messages of support, the youths chanted solidarity songs in praise of President Tinubu’s leadership, Governor Abiodun’s developmental strides and Senator Adeola’s grassroots empowerment initiatives.

The organisers described the exercise as a demonstration of the growing acceptance of the APC among young people in Ogun State and a call for sustained youth participation in the democratic process.

Addressing participants during the event, the Convener of the movement, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, said the solidarity trek was organised to publicly identify with the leadership of President Tinubu, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola, whom he described as leaders committed to the progress and development of Ogun State and Nigeria.

According to him, Senator Adeola has consistently invested in youth development through empowerment programmes, educational support, constituency projects and infrastructural interventions that have positively impacted thousands of lives across the state.

He expressed confidence that the senator would enjoy overwhelming support from the electorate in the 2027 governorship election.

“We have every reason to stand with our leaders because they have demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the people. President Tinubu’s economic reforms, Governor Dapo Abiodun’s developmental projects and Senator Yayi’s empowerment initiatives have continued to inspire confidence among young people,” Akintunde said.

He added that the movement would continue to mobilise youths and students across Ogun State to support progressive leadership while encouraging greater participation in governance and democratic activities.

Also speaking, the Co-Convener of the Yayi Progressives Movement, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, described Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the political leader of the movement and the preferred governorship candidate of its members.

He urged Ogun residents to continue supporting policies and programmes capable of stimulating economic growth, creating employment opportunities and improving the standard of living of the people.

Odeneye noted that the movement remains committed to promoting the ideals of the APC while strengthening youth involvement in the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.

The organisers described the solidarity trek as peaceful, orderly and issue-based, stressing that it was designed to foster unity among party supporters, encourage civic participation and consolidate support for the APC and its leaders as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather pace.
