Some of the most influential political leaders, traditional rulers, business executives, cultural advocates, and policy experts of Yoruba extraction are expected to converge in Lagos on June 6, 2026, for the Fourth Annual Yoruba Global Conference organised by Think Yoruba First (TYF).
The conference, themed “Yorubaland in a Multipolar World: The Hope of the Nation as a Nigerian Bloc,” is designed to provide a platform for strategic conversations on security, economic cooperation, cultural preservation, youth leadership, and regional development in an increasingly complex global environment.
The gathering is expected to attract prominent stakeholders from across the South-West and the Nigerian diaspora, reflecting growing interest in regional integration, economic competitiveness, and cultural renaissance within Yorubaland.

Among the high-profile participants expected at the conference is Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who will also be honoured for what organisers described as his visionary leadership and developmental initiatives in Lagos State.
The event will be hosted by the President of Think Yoruba First, Mr. Bolarinwa Oladimeji, alongside the organisation’s Secretary-General, Dr. Bukola, while the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Kingdom, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, will serve as the Royal Father of the Day.
Other notable personalities billed to participate include the Chairman of Odu’a Investment Limited, Otunba Abimbola Ashiru; former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; businessman and founder of Yoruba Koya Leadership, Otunba Deji Osibogun; and Dr. Tokunbo Awolowo of the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation.
Also expected are the Olukosi of Ijesaland, Oba Omotoyosi Bayo M. Akinleye, Head of Homeland Affairs at the DAWN Commission, Segun Bayonle, as well as Hon. Jowosimi Olabamiji Enitan (Legendary Joe), former House of Representatives member Hon. Lanre Laoshe, Hon. Akin Alabi, Prince Eniola Ojajuni, and Bolarinwa Ayoola.
A major highlight of the conference will be a special tribute to elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, in celebration of his 100th birthday. The tribute will be delivered by the Secretary-General of Afenifere, Agba Akin Demola Folarin, in recognition of Fasoranti’s enduring contributions to Yoruba development and national discourse.
Organisers also announced that several distinguished individuals would be honoured for their contributions to Yoruba advancement, cultural promotion, and community development. Among the award recipients are Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Otunba Deji Osibogun, Ms. Anikeade Funke-Treasure, and popular cultural advocate Adewumi Waliu Mufutau (Yoruba Pikin).
According to the organisers, the conference aims to foster meaningful dialogue on the future of Yorubaland within Nigeria and the wider global community, particularly at a time when issues of insecurity, economic growth, cultural identity, and youth inclusion continue to shape national conversations.
Participants are expected to engage in extensive discussions on combating terrorism and insecurity, strengthening regional economic cooperation, preserving Yoruba heritage, developing future leaders, and positioning Lagos as a strategic hub for the global promotion of Yoruba culture.
The organisers expressed confidence that the conference would generate practical ideas and partnerships capable of advancing the collective aspirations of Yoruba people while contributing to national development and unity.
