Thanksgiving for Victory: Kenny Bello Hosts Political Stakeholders to Celebrate Abiodun, Yayi’s APC Triumphs

The General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Kehinde Bello, on Saturday brought together political leaders, government officials, party faithful and community stakeholders for a thanksgiving celebration in honour of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola (Yayi) following their emergence as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently concluded party primaries.

The event, tagged “Ileya Unity Gathering and Thanksgiving Celebration,” was held at Palm View Estate, Ijebu-Ode, where supporters and stakeholders converged to express gratitude for what they described as a significant milestone in Ogun State’s political journey ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Abiodun emerged as the APC candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District, while Senator Adeola secured the party’s governorship ticket, setting the stage for the next electoral cycle in the state.

Addressing guests at the gathering, Hon. Bello said the event was organised to appreciate God for His grace upon the lives and political careers of both leaders, whose emergence, he noted, reflected the confidence and trust reposed in them by members of the ruling party.

He described the thanksgiving celebration as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Governor Abiodun’s administration while reaffirming support for the APC’s vision of continuity, development and good governance in Ogun State.

Bello commended Governor Abiodun for his infrastructural transformation agenda, economic reforms and investment-driven policies, which he said have continued to position Ogun as one of Nigeria’s leading industrial and investment destinations.

According to him, the emergence of Senator Adeola as the party’s governorship candidate further strengthens the APC’s prospects, given his track record in public service and grassroots engagement.

“As we prepare for the next phase of our political journey, Governor Dapo Abiodun has emerged as the APC candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District, while Senator Olamilekan Adeola has emerged as the party’s governorship candidate. We remain committed to supporting them and ensuring victory in the forthcoming elections,” Bello said.

The OGEPA boss also praised Senator Adeola for what he described as legislative excellence and impactful representation, noting that his empowerment programmes and constituency interventions have positively touched lives across Ogun State.

In their goodwill messages, members of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ogun Waterside and Odogbolu State Constituencies, Hon. Samsideen Lawal and Hon. Lukman Adeleye, respectively, applauded the leadership qualities of Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola.

The lawmakers described both leaders as experienced public servants whose commitment to development, good governance and the welfare of citizens has earned them widespread support across the state.

They also commended Hon. Bello for organising the event, describing the gathering as a demonstration of appreciation, unity and collective commitment to the continued progress of Ogun State.

Special prayers were offered for Governor Abiodun, Senator Adeola, the leadership of the APC and the peace, stability and prosperity of Ogun State.

The celebration featured cultural displays and musical performances, with popular Fuji musician, Taye Currency, entertaining guests and adding colour to the festive atmosphere.

The event attracted party leaders, political associates, traditional stakeholders, youth groups, women organisations and supporters from different parts of the state, underscoring growing momentum within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
