Ogun-East City Boy Movement Backs Adeola as APC Consensus Candidate for 2027

Group praises Ogun West zoning, cites party unity and leadership consensus as key to 2027 victory

The City Boy Movement in Ogun-East Senatorial District has thrown its weight behind the emergence of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election.

In a statement issued by its Ogun-East Coordinator, Babatunde Oyetola Diya, the group described Adeola’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication to the party and his contributions to the development of Ogun State.

Commendation for Abiodun’s Role
The group also praised Dapo Abiodun for supporting the consensus arrangement, noting that the governor publicly endorsed Adeola during a recent APC caucus meeting held in Abeokuta.

According to Diya, the move reflects the governor’s commitment to his earlier pledge to support a successor from Ogun West Senatorial District.

“On behalf of members and coordinators of the City Boy Movement in Ogun-East, we commend Governor Dapo Abiodun for taking this step in supporting Senator Adeola as the party’s consensus candidate,” he said.

Diya noted that the presence of top party leaders at the caucus meeting, including elder statesman Olusegun Osoba, underscores the unity within the APC in Ogun State.

“From our father and leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, to the current governor, the unity within our great party is evident. This signals a renewed progressive journey as we approach the next election,” he added.

Confidence in Continued Development
The movement expressed confidence that Adeola’s emergence would consolidate ongoing development efforts in the state.

According to Diya, the endorsement represents both recognition of past achievements and a pathway to sustained growth.

“Ogun State is poised to witness sustained development, building on the achievements of past and present administrations. Senator Adeola’s emergence will further strengthen the foundation for future growth,” he stated.

Diya also urged residents of Ogun State to support APC candidates across all levels in the forthcoming elections.

“As we approach the governorship election, I urge the good people of Ogun State to vote massively for all candidates of our great party,” he said.

Political observers say the endorsement by the City Boy Movement adds to the growing support base for Adeola within the APC, as stakeholders continue to align ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
