Okubadejo Honours Late Parents with Mosque Reconstruction in Ijebu Ode

Idera Pathfinder Foundation hosts Ramadan Tafsir and commissions renovated mosque at Ogun State Technical College in memory of Alhaji and Alhaja Okubadejo.

The Idera Pathfinder Foundation on Sunday hosted its Annual Ramadan Tafsir and commissioning ceremony for the reconstructed mosque at the Ogun State Government Technical and Vocational College Mosque, in honour of the late Alhaji and Alhaja Okubadejo.

The event was organised by Abdulrahman Oladapo Okubadejo, the Ogun State Ministry of Finance Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, who dedicated the renovated mosque to the memory of his parents.

The ceremony featured Quranic recitations, prayers, and Ramadan reflections, drawing a large gathering of religious leaders, political figures, and community stakeholders.

Among the prominent clerics present were Shaykh Miftaudeen Gbadegesin Ayanbadejo, Grand Chief Imam and President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ijebuland, as well as respected Abeokuta-based Islamic scholar Imam Sugar, the Waziri Musulumi of Yorubaland.

Speaking at the event, Okubadejo emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and harmony among people of different faiths, noting that the reconstruction of the mosque was inspired by the lifelong commitment of his late parents to service and philanthropy.

He pledged to sustain their legacy through continued community development initiatives under the foundation’s platform.

The commissioner also expressed appreciation for a ₦10 million donation made toward the mosque’s maintenance by Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, a senator and potential governorship aspirant in the 2027 Ogun State elections.

Okubadejo described the gesture from the Christian politician as a powerful symbol of interfaith solidarity, underscoring the strong bonds that exist among Nigerians across religious lines.

Other dignitaries present included Abayomi Arigbabu, Commissioner for Education in Ogun State, alongside special advisers to the governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Political Affairs, Razaq Daddah and Biyi Adeleye.

Also in attendance were Dare Alebiosu, Executive Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, and Mufu Oseni, APC Chairman in the local government area, as well as councillors, party leaders, community representatives, and business stakeholders.

The gathering highlighted a strong spirit of community cooperation, faith, and shared commitment to peace and development in Ijebu Ode.
