Isaac Oyedepo Launches Abuja Sunday Services, Bars Collection of Offerings

The son of Bishop David Oyedepo says God instructed his ministry to focus on discipleship and spiritual growth rather than financial contributions as Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries begins weekly worship in Abuja.

Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, son of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), has announced that his ministry will commence Sunday worship services in Abuja with a clear directive not to collect offerings from congregants.

The announcement was made in an online video message monitored on Tuesday and reported by Church Times. In the video, posted on Sunday, January 11, Oyedepo said the decision followed specific instructions he received from God regarding the divine mandate of Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries.

According to him, the ministry’s primary focus is discipleship and the spiritual equipping of believers to genuinely follow Jesus Christ, rather than placing emphasis on financial contributions. While acknowledging that offering collection is biblical and widely practised across Christian ministries, Oyedepo explained that his own assignment requires a different approach.

“God gave me specific instructions not to collect offerings,” he said, stressing that the priority is the spiritual growth, maturity, and development of believers.

The declaration coincides with the formal launch of the ministry’s weekly Sunday services in Abuja.

Born on February 26, 1985, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo officially began his independent evangelical ministry on November 28, 2023, after years of active involvement in leadership, ministry work, and outreach programmes within his father’s church.
