The Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has suspended the Chief Priest of Uviamen Village, Chief Sunday Sidney Enoma, in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
Chief Enoma, who served as the Ohen-Ovia (Chief Priest) of Unuamen, was suspended for what the palace described as a violation of the customs and traditions of the Benin Kingdom.

According to a press statement signed by the Oba’s Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Oba of Benin has reaffirmed Chief Kingsley Igbinosa as the Okao (traditional head) of Unuamen Village.
The statement emphasised that the suspended Chief Priest had no authority to install the Okao and stressed that “all Chieftaincy titles in Benin Kingdom are conferred solely by the Oba of Benin.”
