The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across its retail stations, following fresh cuts in ex-depot prices by Dangote Refinery and major depot owners.
A review of major filling stations across Abuja on Thursday showed that NNPCL has adjusted its retail price from N945 per litre to N930, reflecting a N10 downward shift.
The new price has taken effect in several locations, including Kubwa Expressway, Gwarimpa, Wuse Zone 4, Zone 6, and other outlets within the Federal Capital Territory.
Other fuel marketers have also made similar reductions. Ranoil stations in Gwarimpa now dispense fuel at N935, down from N940, while MRS and AP Ardova stations are selling between N930 and N935 per litre.
The coordinated price cuts follow the latest ex-depot adjustments from Dangote Refinery and major depot owners such as Pinnacle and Aiteo, who reduced their rates by at least N10 to N846, N845, and N844 per litre respectively.
Industry experts say the trend may continue. Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), told reporters that the ongoing “petrol price competition” could trigger further reductions in the coming days.
