The Makun High School Old Students Association (MAHSOSA) 2006 Set, under the leadership of Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale (Honourable Prince Lahbash), has taken a remarkable step to improve student welfare by commissioning a modern public toilet complex for the Junior School section of Makun High School, Sagamu.
The project—championed by Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale—was officially inaugurated at a brief but memorable ceremony attended by school administrators, alumni executives, and community stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the National President of MAHSOSA, CSP Ibrahim Babatunde Mojeed, praised the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of the school. He emphasized that the gesture demonstrates the deep connection alumni continue to share with the institution that nurtured them.
“This project represents our shared legacy,” said Hon. Prince Lahbash. “It reflects our gratitude and underscores our commitment to creating a better learning environment for present and future students.”
The Principal of Makun High School (Junior), Mr. Olusegun Oyewusi, lauded the 2006 Set for their foresight and generosity. He said the new facility will greatly improve hygiene, safety, and overall learning conditions within the school.
“This modern facility reaffirms our belief that every learner and visitor deserves a clean, secure, and dignified environment,” he said. He urged students to use the facility responsibly, adding, “Those who give shall never lack; may the donors continue to flourish.”
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Makun High School, Mr. Sunday Oyeyemi, commended the 2006 Set for their well-coordinated effort. He encouraged other alumni groups to liaise with the national body when proposing similar projects to ensure alignment with the school’s long-term development plans.
“The Class of 2006 has shown great vision and brought honour to this school,” he remarked.
In his address, Comrade Bashiru Hammed expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, for granting the necessary approval for the project. He also thanked all members of the 2006 Set for their unwavering support from inception to completion.
He reaffirmed that the project reflects the Set’s commitment to giving back and strengthening the school’s infrastructure.
“Our goal is to leave a lasting impact—one that enhances student wellbeing and upholds the values we were taught here,” he said.
The newly commissioned ultra-modern toilet complex is expected to significantly enhance hygiene standards, curb open defecation, and improve the overall school experience for hundreds of students.
