FG Awards ₦350M to Top Teachers, Launches EduRevamp at National Summit

Nigeria celebrates teaching excellence as new platform promises nationwide professional development.

The Federal Government has rewarded outstanding teachers with ₦350 million and unveiled EduRevamp, a national online platform for continuous professional development, at the National Teachers’ Summit 2026 held at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.

The summit, themed “Empowering Teachers, Strengthening the System: A National Agenda for Education Transformation and Sustainability,” gathered educators, policymakers, state officials, unions, and development partners to celebrate teaching excellence and advance education reforms.

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, described teachers as “the quiet architects of great nations,” stressing that no country can progress without well-supported and motivated educators. She said education remains a central focus of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

Education Minister Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, announced that 12 top teachers from across the 36 states and FCT were each awarded ₦25 million, while the Overall Best Teacher, Mr. Taiwo Solanke, received ₦50 million and additional donations from state governments.

The new EduRevamp portal will provide teachers nationwide with resources for professional growth, training, and career development. The summit continues through 28 January, serving as a platform to drive sustainable education reforms.
