The Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) has commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dapo Abiodun for their roles in the emergence of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued in Abeokuta by the Convener of the movement, Armstrong Tope Akintunde, and made available to journalists through the State Director of Media and Publicity, Oluseun Joshua.
Akintunde described Adeola’s emergence as a reflection of his credibility, popularity, and long-standing commitment to progressive politics, particularly in Ogun West Senatorial District.

According to him, the consensus decision underscores the senator’s growing influence within the party and his track record of service.
“The emergence of our leader as the APC consensus governorship candidate is well-deserved, given his outstanding contributions and dedication to the people,” he said.
The YPM convener praised President Tinubu for what he described as a fatherly role in supporting Adeola’s aspiration, while also applauding Governor Abiodun for backing the zoning arrangement that favours Ogun West.
He noted that the development represents a significant step toward fairness and inclusiveness in the state’s political structure.
“I sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next governor. I also commend Governor Dapo Abiodun for making this possible during his tenure,” Akintunde stated.
Akintunde urged residents of Ogun State to rally behind Adeola ahead of the 2027 governorship election, describing the moment as a turning point in the state’s political and developmental trajectory.
“We appeal to all well-meaning residents of Ogun State to come out en masse to support Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, in the 2027 election,” he said.
He added that the development signals continuity of progressive governance, drawing parallels with sustained development models seen in other states.
According to the movement, Ogun State stands on the brink of a new phase of transformation, with Adeola positioned to build on the achievements of past and present administrations.
Akintunde also expressed appreciation to party leaders, supporters, and stakeholders for their continued commitment to the growth of the party and the movement.
Observers note that the endorsement by YPM adds to the growing political momentum around Adeola’s candidacy, as various groups continue to align ahead of the 2027 elections.
