Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commissioned the newly completed Afon Township Road in Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, using the occasion to announce the immediate reconstruction of the Olorunda–Imeko Road.

The governor disclosed that the decision followed his personal assessment of the poor condition of the Olorunda–Imeko Road. He said he had directed the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure to urgently prepare the project estimates and ensure they are presented to the State Executive Council and advertised, so reconstruction work can commence without delay.

Prince Abiodun noted that over the past six and a half years, his administration has constructed more than 1,600 kilometres of roads across Ogun State, while also facilitating the delivery of the 100-kilometre Sagamu Interchange–Papalanto–Obelle Road executed with reinforced concrete.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to responsive and performance-driven governance, stressing that Yewaland, alongside all other parts of the state, will continue to receive its fair share of development.
According to the governor, the completion of the Afon Township Road will significantly enhance mobility, boost trade, ease the movement of agricultural produce, address flooding challenges, and support agricultural and commercial activities within Imeko-Afon and neighbouring communities.

Prince Abiodun expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, community leaders, and partners for their support and cooperation, reiterating his administration’s resolve to continue delivering critical road infrastructure that drives economic growth, improves livelihoods, and opens up Ogun State for greater prosperity.
