Education Ministry Staff Urged to Improve Work Attitude for Sectoral Excellence in Ogun

Commissioner Arigbabu stresses discipline, diligence and commitment as key to sustaining Ogun’s leadership in education

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has charged staff of the Ministry to improve their attitude to work in order for the state to sustain its enviable position as a leader in the education sector in Nigeria.

The Commissioner gave the charge during a prayer session held to usher in the New Year and officially commence activities in the Ministry. He emphasised that discipline, diligence and commitment to duty remain critical tools for achieving productivity and success in public service.

Prof. Arigbabu attributed the state’s outstanding performance and notable achievements in the education sector to the dedication and hard work of officers in the Ministry. He urged staff not to relent in their efforts, but rather to serve as sources of inspiration and encouragement to their colleagues.

“I want to appreciate the Permanent Secretary for her focus, passion and dedication to work, which clearly portrays her as an epitome of what a good leader should be,” the Commissioner said.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, expressed gratitude to God for His mercy and faithfulness, while commending staff for their commitment to duty. She also applauded the Commissioner for introducing impactful initiatives to the Ministry and encouraged officers to continue engaging in actions worthy of commendation and reward.

Speaking on behalf of other members of staff, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Temitope Balogun, appreciated both the Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary for their generosity and care over the years, describing them as father and mother figures to the workforce.

Delivering a Christian exhortation, the Director of Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Samuel Opanuga, urged officers not to forget the goodness of God in their lives, even when expectations were unmet. He noted that humanity was created to give thanks to God and should remain grateful for the gift of life and continued blessings.

In a complementary Islamic message, Mr. AbdulAzeez Adebayo advised officers to think positively, pray, forgive, care, communicate effectively, embrace change and work diligently as they pursue their responsibilities in the New Year.
