Dr. Ronke Soyombo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, rewarded 60 public primary school pupils with cash prizes for participating in the ‘Young Luminaries’ project competition held at Oba Erinwole road, Sagamu, aimed to promote literacy, numeracy, and project exhibition skills among elementary school students.

The competition, initiated by Apostle Kola Okubote, Executive Secretary of Sagamu Local Government Education Authority, encouraged students to develop their communication, reading, and mathematics skills. Students showcased innovative projects, including traffic lights, water dispensers, and standing fans.

Dr. Soyombo emphasized the importance of numeracy and literacy in navigating other subjects and driving industrial growth and thanked teachers for their dedication and encouraged them to continue being role models for their students.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Lawal Mikahi, Acting Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, and Oba Musiliu Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado. The competition’s outcome saw Local Government Primary School, Makun, taking the top spot with five gold medals.
