OOUTH MANAGEMENT CONDEMNS ASSAULT ON MEDICAL STAFF, REAFFIRMS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLENCE

…Says perpetrators will face prosecution, assures support for affected staff

The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital has strongly condemned an alleged assault on one of its healthcare workers, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy towards violence within the facility.

In a press statement signed by the Chief Medical Director, Oluwabunmi Motunrayo Fatungase, the hospital described the incident as unacceptable, stressing that any individual or group found responsible would be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The management emphasized that the safety, dignity, and well-being of its staff remain a top priority, noting that healthcare personnel continue to provide critical services under demanding conditions.

“OOUTH maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards violence against its staff. Any individual or group found culpable will be promptly apprehended and prosecuted,” the statement read.

The hospital also assured the public that the affected staff member is receiving appropriate medical care and institutional support.

Management urged patients, their relatives, and the general public to cooperate with healthcare workers and uphold mutual respect within the hospital environment.

It warned that acts of violence undermine the delivery of essential healthcare services and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive atmosphere for both patients and staff, calling for continued collaboration to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
