TINUBU SWEARS IN NEW NPC CHAIRMAN AMINU YUSUF, TWO COMMISSIONERS

President completes appointments as NPC leadership receives fresh mandate

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, swore in the newly appointed Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Aminu Yusuf, along with two newly confirmed commissioners during a brief ceremony held at the opening segment of the Federal Executive Council meeting.

The ceremony was witnessed by members of the council, marking the formal assumption of duty by the appointees.

Yusuf, from Niger State, was confirmed by the Senate on October 22, 2025, alongside Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa State and Tonga Betara Bularafa from Yobe State, who were confirmed as commissioners of the NPC.

“This administration expects diligence, accuracy, and integrity in national population management,” President Tinubu said at the swearing-in.
“The Commission must deliver data that guides national planning and development.”

The appointments strengthen the leadership structure of the NPC as the Commission prepares for upcoming national demographic programmes and statistical exercises.
